Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information TAT collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. "TAT", "we" and "us" means Joshua Lee, doing business as TAT (Tattoo Artist Tracker). It covers the TAT website and phone apps. Questions or requests: hello@tattooartisttracker.com.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and password (stored securely by our login provider; we never see your password). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
- Profile: the name, city, styles, photos, links and descriptions you add, and your confirmation that you are 18 or older.
- Messages: consultation requests (your idea, placement, size, color, budget and reference photos), chats you send, reports you file, and feedback you send us.
- Saves and logs: places you save or pass on, and entries in your personal log, when you are signed in.
- Location: only if you tap "Use my location". It is used to search nearby and is not stored on our servers.
- Usage counts: when you open the app, view a shop, or save or pass on one, we record that event with a random ID stored on your device. It is not linked to your name. We use it to count how many people use TAT and to show shops how many people saved or viewed them, as totals only.
- Technical data: your IP address is used to apply rate limits that block abuse and is deleted within 2 days. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for a short time.
- Beta list: the name, email, city, Instagram handle and shop name you enter when you ask for an invite.
- Shop claims: if you claim a shop, the listing you claimed, the note you send, and the listing's public phone number and website from Google, so we can confirm the claim.
Please do not put sensitive health information in a consultation request beyond what a shop needs to know.
How we use it
To run TAT: show listings, let clients and shops find and message each other, email you when you get a request or message, confirm shop claims, review reported profiles, prevent fraud and abuse, keep TAT secure, fix problems, understand how TAT is used so we can improve it, and follow the law. We email you about your account and messages. We do not send marketing emails without your permission.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. TAT has no ads and no third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
Who can see what
- Shop and artist profiles and their photos are visible to TAT users once approved.
- When you send a consultation request, the shop you sent it to sees it, along with your profile name. If the shop has not joined TAT yet, it waits until the shop claims its listing.
- A client's idea, city, styles and reference photos are visible to approved shops and artists only if the client turns on "let them reach out".
- Messages are visible only to the people in the conversation, and to us if a conversation is reported or we need to investigate abuse.
Once a shop or artist receives your information, their own privacy practices apply to how they use it. We are not responsible for what they do with it.
Services we use
These providers process data on our behalf, under their own security and privacy terms: Supabase (accounts, password reset emails, database, photo storage), Vercel (hosting), Google Maps Platform (listings, photos and location search) and Resend (email alerts). TAT's use of Google Maps is also covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, to investigate fraud or abuse, to enforce our Terms, or as part of a merger, sale or transfer of TAT (for example, to a company we form to run it), in which case this policy keeps applying to your information.
Cookies and device storage
TAT only uses storage it needs to work. We set one cookie to remember that you entered the beta invite code. Your browser or phone also stores your login session, your saved shops, and simple preferences such as which sign-up option you picked. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking, so there is nothing to opt out of. Because we do not track you across sites, we treat browser "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals as already honored.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, photos, saved shops, log, messages and login right away, as described on our account deletion page. Reports other people filed about an account are kept so we can prevent repeat abuse. Anonymous usage counts stay as totals. Rate limit records are deleted within 2 days. Backups held by our providers roll off on their normal schedule. Beta list entries are kept until you ask us to remove them or the beta ends.
Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls on our database, and reputable providers for login and storage. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed without permission. If we learn of a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Children
TAT is only for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has an account or that we have their information, email us or report the profile in the app and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile at any time, turn off "let them reach out", block people, and sign out. To delete your account, open the Me tab and tap Delete account, or follow the steps on our account deletion page.
Depending on where you live (including Texas and California), you may have the right to know what personal information we have about you, get a copy of it, correct it, delete it, and opt out of its sale, targeted advertising or profiling (we do none of these). To make a request, email hello@tattooartisttracker.com from your account email. We will verify the request and answer within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with "appeal", and we will respond within 60 days. If you are not satisfied with the appeal, you may contact your state attorney general.
Where we operate
TAT is run from the United States and is meant for people in the United States. Our providers may store data in the United States or other countries.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top, and if the changes are significant we will let you know in the app or by email.
